I don't know why... but I get hooked on the most random searches that I start... Looking up consumer reports, book reviews, comparisons on search engine results... and all for the most miscellaneous things. Glow in the dark pet supplies, nostalgic living room decor, random recipies to make my favorite comfort foods or drinks, and now... Sea Monkeys!

I want them. I don't know why... I just do.

I've yet to actually own Sea Monkeys (although I've given them as gag gifts to my friends, not knowing how cool they actually are) And honestly... ever since I started looking them up (seriously four days ago) I just can't shake the desire to own some. I consulted my boyfriend on the matter, and we've decided that it would be cool to get some when we move in with eachother this fall... but I'm pretty impatient. Right now... my only personal reasoning is that theyre a pet like every other... and if you know that your planning on getting a puppy with your boyfriend, you don't go out three months before and get one. This is something that I want to share with him... and so far I think i'm doing ok with self restraint. I was curious on a lot of things to start out with... one being all the various items that can be purchased along with the essentials... Banana Treat, Cupid's Arrow, Sea Medic... etc... and from what I've seen on other various posts... I've come to the conclusion that theyre not important to have. I was curious about the Sea Diamonds tho. If the Sea Monkeys actually interact with them, I think that would be cool. Sadly, I was concerned for the little guys when I saw the product "Grow Kwikly" It reminded me of steroids. There's pleanty of short people in the world... and we don't sprinkle powder over them to make them grow taller... so why do it with your pets? And the Racing game seems a little traumatic... but I guess it's ok for the people that want to do that. *smiles* I don't know.

Oh, and I'm really fond of the fact that Mr. von Braunhut came up with "Instant Life" the year my mom was born. Probably not too significant, but I thought it was cool.

Anyways... Thank you for everybody that's dedicated their time to making Sea Monkey info more accessable. I can tell that these little pets are going to be a real joy... and I'm looking forward to owning them some day.

Oh... and if ANYBODY knows about that one show Amazing Live Sea Monkeys that use to air on CBS in 1992... I'd like to know what you know. It just baffles me how such a cool concept for a TV series could come about on a major television station, with actually deicent actors... and only be known by vague references on the internet. lol, theyre hiding something! But yea... that sort of knowledge would be cool to have.

Take care everyone. Much loves

~*~ New found sea monkey fanatic.... Casper

Welcome to the world of Sea Monkeys! :)

If you're having trouble deciding on a tank to buy, here are the pros and cons of some of the more common tanks.

Mini World sets (Hang ten, City, Moon,)
Pros:
-Wider base, impossible to tip over
-magnification bubbles on top
-Themed designs
Cons:
-In the city set, Sea Monkeys can get trapped behind buildings
-In the Hang ten set, Sea Monkeys can become trapped behind sand dunes

Ocean Zoo sets:
Pros:
-Comes in red, blue, green, yellow, purple, and orange
-Nothng to get trapped behind
-Magnification bubbles on the sides
Cons:
-Easy to tip over ('d reccomend sticking it down with removable adhesive foam pads)
-No themed designs

For the packets, I prefer to only use the basics as well as Sea Medic. That's always good to have on hand. Sea Diamonds are prett much useless, they can crush Sea Monkeys when you pour them in and they don't use them much. I'd also reccomend getting an Aqua Leash and a Million Bubbles Air Pump. I find the other packets not very necessary.
