Heyz

I just wanted to start a Topic About anime and people who like anime and collect anime , I personally consider my-self to be a huge anime fan (OTAKU) , My Fav. anime of all times is Neon Genesis Evangelion , And i Collect everything that relates to it Figures ... etc) i AM THE BIGGEST EVA FAN ON EART AND EXISTENCE LOL , And well FLCL Rocks too lol , Death Note is amazing .. :D

So what about you ? do You like anime ? ^^

Yeah, I like anime :) Am quite a fan too, in a way, but I don't collect stuff (what kind of fan is that?). Hahahaha...But I do like anime and some manga, although I know more anime than manga.

I haven't seen NGE though, but I've seen others. *thinks* Miyazaki's anime movies, Getbackers, Descendents of Darkness, Gravitation, Naruto, Weiz Kreuze, Bandit King Jing, Wolf's Rain, Saiyuki, Grave of the Fireflies, Petshop of Horrors, Samurai Champloo, Peacemaker Kurogane...

I saw Death Note movie 1. But have not read the manga.

I like anime a lot too. I especially like Naruto, it's just the right combination of action, drama, and comedy relief. I also like DBZ (Dragon Ball Z) The only thing is they don't put that on anymore.

There are some people on Youtube who re-dub naruto episodes. My favorite are from someone named Beesnipe. His are really funny because Narut is a crack-job idiot, Sakura's obsessed with Myspace, and Sasuke is acts emo. random but funny :D

Ahh...haven't seen Dragonball :) Oh? I didn't know they re-dubbed Naruto on youtube. Hm...guess I might check it out.

Have you seen Death Note movie 2? I missed that. My first anime....*thinks* It's a long time ago. Going back....way back when I was a kid....Candy Candy. Hahaha! They showed that on tv.

When did you get interested in anime for real? Mine was...*thinks* It's been a while...*thinking hard* I really can't remember....Ah yes! I remember. It was called Please Save My Earth :) And after that, it was Arislan, Area 88 and Record of Lodoss War.

What did you like about Sailor Moon?

Have any of you watched the Gilgamesh series? It’s one of my all time favorites. I’m a HUGE anime fan! Wolf’s Rain, Pacific Blue (that one is a real psycho trip), Princes Mononoke (I think I spelled that right) also ones I adore to watch and so on and so forth. I wonder what’s the connection with all these people who like sea monkeys liking anime? It’s not like Sea Monkeys are from Japan, but here we are all liking it… I guess we’re just the cool people ;)

Haven't seen Gilgamesh. But yeah, I've seen Wolf's Rain. I saw the one lacking the ending. Later, I read there're a few more episodes and I got those, but I haven't watched yet. What do you think of Wolf's Rain?

You mean Princess Mononoke. Just missing an "s" :) Have you seen Spirited Away & Howl's Moving Castle?

Well, there's no connection between seamonkeys and Anime :) It's just so happens that some of us are also Anime people :)

I just finished watching 2 yaoi anime called After School In the Teacher's Lounge & Zetsuai (haven't seen Bronze yet). Both are good, but Zetsuai is better, more intense in the depth of the feelings, dealing with more mature issues like dark family background and obsessive love.

Wolf's Rain is great ( i own the series). I also have Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle also wonderfull movies ( they have to be considering the director). I read that you like Pet Shop of Horror. that is one of the first Anime movies that i actualy bought. It's a shame that only one Dvd was made. I have all the graphic novels and would realy like to see the rest oof them. Another good one is the movie for the series Ah My Goddess.

Yeah, I like Wolf's Rain too. But since I haven't seen the ending, I can't comment on it. I read from other sites that the ending is confusing, everyone dies and it doesn't quite make sense?

Oh! It's great your saw Spirited Away & Howl's. You can't miss them if you're a Miyazaki fan ^_____^ Did you also catch The Cat Returns by Ghibli Studios (but not by Miyazaki)?

Oh, fantastic that you bought Petshop of Horrors! So you mean, this was your first introduction to anime?

Yeah, Petshop is truly fabulous and yeah, it's really a pity that it's just 4 episodes. I thought there was more after watching the last episode about the Kirin, but I checked Anime News Network and there's just the 4. Really a pity because the stories and animation are so good. Leaves you wanting more.

The seiyuu (Japanese voice actor) for Count D is Toshihiko Seki who is also one of my favourite seiyuus. I watch anime in the original Japanese language but with English subs ^____^

Yeah, I've also read some of the manga and it's really good. It's as captivating as the anime. So Tokyopop has finished doing all the volumes for Petshop?

Unfortunately, I haven't seen Ah My Goddess ^___^ I didn't know they made a movie, though I know there's the series. I've seen some pics and the girls look super cute ^___^

I just finished watching Bronze (sequel to Zetsuai). It's good, but the drawing is different from the first one (Zetsuai). I prefer the original drawings in Zetsuai. The ending was unexpected and quite sad and unfortunate.

Oh I got Pet shop of Horrors years ago; it was the first I ‘Bought’. I’ve been 'watching' anime since I was a little girl. Allot of things didn't have English translations back then and my dad would sit me on his knee and do all the translating for me. Those are some of my favorite memories. As for the pets shop graphic novels; I think they only go up to 10. I’m to lazy to go digging through all the boxes I’ve packed up though to be certain.

Yeah, I just checked around and there're only 10 volumes. The mangaka (author/writer) recently did a sequel called Shin Petshop of Horrors.

So you keep your manga in boxes eh. Some people like re-reading their books a few times. What about you?

Cool, I love Pet Shop of Horros, and Ah! My Goddess! Another good one is Witch Hunter Robin. Who all knows Japanese? I'm still learning, but I can hold conversations in it. I've been studying it for about 4 years, but have actually been taking the class for 1 year. I plan to go to Japan next year to teach.

My dad doesn’t speak Japanese that I know of, it really wouldn’t surprise me if he did. Some movies had English subtitles but no English voice over’s, others my dad would just make up the story as it went along. My sisters would get annoyed and leave the room, but it was enough to hold me entranced. I have an Uncle that speaks Japanese (next to my dad he’s my hero). My manga is boxed up because I’m planning on moving this summer, and as to ‘Shin Petshop of Horrors’ that’s just plain awesome and I can’t wait to see if I can find a copy. I would enjoy seeing your anime forum. I could shoot you a link to my art gallery.
SeaMonkeyMan (I’m sure that you’ve said this before but) what do you teach? Oh, and I’m insanely jealous of you that your going to Japan.

Looks like everyone has seen Petshop ^__^ Yeah! I saw Witch Hunter Robin too. It's ok, but not too great because it's obvious the character drawings are not consistent. The idea is cool though.

Wow, 4 years eh. That's a lot of time. Can you read and write as well? Based on what I read before, they require teachers to be able to speak and have some basic proficiency in the Japanese language before they would take you in.

Yes, I'd say your trip would cause envy and jealousy ^__^ But yeah, they would want English speakers to teach English.

There is a program they run, and it recruits English speakers from around the world to teach in Japan. It's not for those who haven't got cash because those selected will have to pay almost everything from lodging to food. Is this the program you're going on?

Hahaha...so your dad made up the stories as he went along ^__^ How come your uncle can speak Japanese?

Mm hm. Yeah, Shin Petshop of Horrors is in Japanese and not yet in English. I think "Shin" means "new". It is after all a sequel and from what I read about it, Count D has moved his shop from America's Chinatown to Tokyo Shinjuku.

Yup, I can read and write it. For this program, they pay for you to get there, etc, and you use the salary you earn there to pay for whatever expenses you have. Depending on where you live, it's not too bad. Also, since they would want you to teach English, you're not expected to know Japanese (although it is a plus.) You are there to be an all English speaking teacher for them. If you request to be placed differently, like in Math, then you're expected to know it. So basically, it's an opportunity for anyone to follow!
