greetings from the island of borneo

hello everyone and greetings from the exotic island of borneo

I am planning on getting the ghostly galleon. Is that a good set? I bought one of the basic kits when I was in australia but little bugs got into it and they all died. I placed the water in some place hoping for the water to evaporate leaving all the salinity, nutrients, and eggs behind but my step dad's nephew toppled the aquarium spilling all the water. That was three years ago and I am now looking forward to having sea monkeys again.

Borneo??! Borneo sells Seamonkeys too?? Whoa! (you're ordering it online right?)

Yes, the Ghostly Galleon is the dream set. It glows in the dark, it has all the packets including aqua leash, million bubble pump and even a searchlight.

What "little bugs" do you mean? And how did they kill the seamonkeys?

Hello aquasaur

They don't actually sell sea monkeys over here in Borneo. I went around town but couldn't find one, I even went to the biggest toy store over here and they too don't sell them. I have no other choice but to order it online. I haven't actually cashed in the money but I will do it probably next week. I can't wait, I am so excited.

At first I had no idea as I wanted both the Mars kit and the ghostly galleon. The mars kit is a little cheaper than the ghostly galleon one but the GG has everything in one box so I figured out it is best for me to start with that one and if somewhere along the line I wanted another one, I could just get the mars kit.

'little bugs' were floating on the water and I could see no sea monkeys...I could see specks of them the day before...maybe the water got contaminated or something. I hope my new one won't get contaminated because I just cannot afford it.

Anyway, I think I better stop now. thanks for the reply aquasaur

You're welcome :)

Yes, it's better to buy either the Ghostly Galleon or the regular Ocean Zoo tank. Either one would be great.

I wouldn't recommend the Mars set because it is too small, and the shape and inside colour make it hard to see the seamonkeys.

I still can't imagine what "little bugs" you mean, unless they are seamonkey larvae but you mistook them for bugs. But you also mention that you saw specks of seamonkeys the day before. So, I guess you know what the larvae look like and those bugs could be some insects that got into the tank.

1) Always keep your tank covered and make sure you put in a secure place where it won't be tipped over accidentally.

2) Be sure to start aerating on day 2 when the larvae have hatched, otherwise they start dying out pretty fast.

3) Use only distilled or bottled water for your tank :)

4) Stir in the water purifier until it is all dissolved. Use a clean chopstick or a long spoon if you've to.
