I'm also thinking about buying Brine Shrimp eggs, that would be much easier than adding a ton of egg packets and purifier. Then I could have the right amount of Sea Monkeys. I think they will look pretty much the same as Sea Monkeys, but they won't grow as big and have a redder color. Tell me how it goes, I'm curious how well they live.

One thing I'm not sure about is when you have brine shrimp, it may be hard to know how much to feed. I guess you would judge that on how many tanks worth of Sea Monkeys there appear to be.

K, thanx. i will keep u posted on their growth. (I can't believe how many eggs they give u for 3 dollars!!!! :))It's been 3 hours, and their still eggs. Am I doing something wrong or just being impatient? Also, when should I feed them and aerate them? And seamonkeyman, how did u raise them to adulthood to live as long as sea-monkeys? And since they were not meant to grow-up, then will they start breeding by the time they were meant to live? (Sorry if that last question didn't make sense,.... i just didn't know how to word it )

The question made sense... I believe they should breed before they die, yes.

Hatching is a 24-72 hour process. 3 hours is not possible.

I raised them to adulthood with lots of care. It can be difficult, but by monitoring their food supply constantly and maintaining oxygen it is possible.

If they reach adulthood, they will mate.

The only reason Sea Monkeys can hatch instantly is because there are some eggs in the purifier. It's a sales gimmick so they seem to hatch "right before your eyes." You could really put the eggs and purifier in at the same time and at would be fine.

Thanks. I see them swimming around and their sooooo cute!!!! my goal is to raise them to adulthood! But I put waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many eggs in so I overfed them and I hope algae will grow so that I don't have to aerate them as much. I love them! =3 When will they actually start eating? And how long untill they are adults? They are all scooting along the floor now....... are they eating the algae that fell to the bottom?

This morning I looked at them and they were big, and all of them had long thin stuff trailing behind them. But now I can't find a single one and I'm afraid they died. :'(

Well it's good to know they were big, so that means you're doing something right. Did you aerate them? I remember you saying you had a lot. That could be a problem. Next time, add only a few.

Many people would argue against it, but I see no problem with it at all; they're just eggs. Just be sure not to add too many because you don't want to take up all of the oxygen.

I added a few BS eggs to my regular tank (I got some too). I put them in last night and now some have hatched. One thing that's surprising me is I think I can see them hatching. I see a little white teardrop shape hanging out from most of the eggs, but they're not moving. Might these be hatching Brine Shrimp?

That happened to my friend when I gave her some of my eggs, they weren't moving either and they still haven't hatched.

Right, that means they are in what is known as the "Umbrella Stage." What you are seeing is the egg yolk. This is a sign that you will see babies in a few hours!

Here is a video of my current Brine Shrimp. I have them in a Robo Diver tank. I'm very sorry about the quality of the video, I'm planning to get a new camera so that I can upload videos for you. So, with that said, don't look for a good video, the whole point here is to show you that they are just as big and active as Sea Monkeys.

These brine shrimp are about 3 and a half weeks old. Unfortunately, there are only two (only two hatched when I started), however, I'm glad to say that they have mated last week and today there are babies! (Too small for the video.) I'm guessing she had a live birth, but I missed it. The one you see in the video that is very active is the male. You also see a brief appearance from the female.
