Vacationing
What should I do to prep my monkey's for a 7-day leave? I'm thinking twice daily oxygenating for about 3 days before I leave and then a furious amount of pumping in the very end. Are there any better strategies?

Re: Vacationing
I dont know, I have given this some thought myself. I almost think that I would be better off by paying off some friend or family member to come in and take care of my duties. I know that if I was on vaction I would worry about how they are doing. I am very much new to this hobbie, so with that said I would like to hear from the more experienced members of this group to add their input..

I'm leaving for 10 days in july, that system you have seems good. Also feed them a little extra before you leave.

Re: Vacationing
maybe if you have some algae growing you could just feed them before you leave and maybe they will be able to live off the algae for a while untill you come back

Yeah, alge is their natural food source and they will definitely eat it. seamonk101, you may be thinging of the sediment that builds up at the bottom of the tank, it looks similar to algae.
