Tongue Tied [:S] Aeration problems!
Reply Quote
Alright, so my new sea monkeys hatched about 3 days ago. I stil have around 15 of them swimming around at baby size. They are growing to :). They seem to be VERY healthy but the bubbles on the sides of the tank are going FAST! I thought this meant that I should aerate, yet when I go to aerate ( I use an Aqua-Leash from my old Hidden Treasures set that I've misplaced >.> <.<....), I just get bubbles going to the top of the tank and they pop. Am I oxygenating? I don't see any more bubbles being attached to the sides of the tank. So I wonder if it's not working :(.  It also stirs up the sea monkey violently and I pump it around 10 times. Yet I get absolutly no new bubbles or signs of proper aeration on the sides of the tank.

Do you mean the bubbles that appear on the side of the tank when you very first add the purifer and the eggs? Those bubbles will dissappear after a few days, then the water will basically look 'clear' (allowing you to see the sea-monkeys better) so even though the few actual bubbles that the pump creates almost immediately disappear, you're doing it right by just giving them around 6-10 squirts a day. :-) My sea-monkeys get stirred up as well, but they don't seem to mind. You can oxygenate slowly, that works just as well!

Hope that helps. :-)
