Confused [8-)] Aquatic creatures

I am a huge sea monkey fan but i am also fascinated by other aquatic species such as giant squid and prehistoric sharks. does anyone know of a similra site to this but for those of us who like all marine creatures?

Giant Squid (Architeuthis) and prehistoric sharks are marine creatures. And prehistoric sharks are extinct. So...it means you're looking for marine creatures that include those that are extinct. I don't think many forums have broad enough categories like that, although you can try the marine forums.

I remember hearing about a prehistoric shark just recently - i did a quick search on google and this is what i found http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2007/01/070124-sharks-photo.html

Are they using the term prehistoric shark incorrectly? - they do put it in inverted commas, which suggests they are?

Yes, this shark was all over the news recently. They call it "prehistoric" and a "living fossil" because it is a primitive shark that has changed little over time. The quotation marks mean that these words are terms used to describe the shark (and not that the words mean differently from what they imply).
